Following previously abandoned proposals for a hotel on the same site, Axiom Architects were appointed to develop proposals for a new build 57 bedroom hotel on the site of an existing members club in the centre of Epsom, Surrey.
Proposals were developed to provide sufficient ground floor hotel accommodation alongside a new members club, whilst maximising bedrooms above within a building envelope established in previous planning applications.
Detailed acoustic design development was carried out to provide a high degree of acoustic separation between the hotel and members club below.
Proposals were developed to minimise the required building volume, and reduce the visibility of roof level plant.
Public and pre-application planning consultations were carried out with the Local Authority and surrounding interested parties to identify key concerns and obtain feedback on the design proposals.
Demolition works due to start later this year with a completion date of winter 2017.
