Axiom Architects were appointed by the owner of an existing 1850s residential building to develop proposals for a full internal renovation and extension.
Proposals include stripping back to the existing building but being sensitive to the original listed features, forming new bedrooms and a ground and basement extension.
The rear extension used continuous piling to form a waterproof basement which involved 17 Party Wall Agreements being agreed within a compact site.
As part of the Grade II Listed Terrace House, the site was subject to extensive negotiation with the Local Authority and English Heritage.
The work to the façade and interior has transformed a neglected, run down structure into a rejuvenated residence that is in keeping with its Grade II listed status.
