Whitbread purchased a redundant office building site with an extant planning permission for a 149 bedroom hotel and restaurant.
Our brief was to achieve approximately 20% more bedrooms, within the severe constraints of the approved building volume.
As a result of very intricate internal re-planning the new scheme provided 176 bedrooms, plus a ground floor hotel reception area and an associated restaurant and bar facility that is available off-street to the public.
The result is an imposing nine storey building that brings a fresh vibrancy to The Broadway.
